Ingredients
- 250 g Tteokbokki rice cakes (tteok)
- 2 tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 120 g Fish cake (eomuk), sliced
- 3/4 cup Water
- 1 tsp Vegetable oil(optional)
- 1 tsp Sesame oil(optional)
- 2 tbsp Green onion, sliced(optional)
Instructions
- 1
Prep (8 minutes): Slice the fish cake and green onion. If your rice cakes are frozen, rinse briefly and drain.
- 2
In a small pot, heat vegetable oil (optional) over medium heat. Stir in gochujang for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
- 3
Add water and soy sauce, whisking to dissolve the paste. Bring to a simmer.
- 4
Add rice cakes and fish cake. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice cakes are chewy and cooked through, about 12–15 minutes.
- 5
Turn off heat and stir in sesame oil (optional). Taste and adjust with a tiny splash more soy sauce if needed. Serve immediately (total cook time ~18 minutes).
