- 400 grams Penne pasta
- 400 grams Canned crushed tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
- 3 Garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons Dried red chili flakes
- 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 pinch Salt
- 30 grams Pecorino Romano cheese(optional)

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente.

While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic and chili flakes to the skillet, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add a pinch of salt. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Drain the pasta, reserving a small cup of the pasta water.

Toss the pasta into the skillet with the sauce, adding a splash of pasta water if needed to coat the noodles evenly.
