Ingredients

  • 2 fillets salmon fillets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp neutral oil (or sesame oil)
  • 1 pc lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or dill (chopped)(optional)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat the salmon dry. Season both sides lightly with kosher salt (and black pepper if using). Zest the lemon if desired, then cut into wedges.

  2. 2

Heat a nonstick or well-seasoned skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil, then place salmon in the pan skin-side down (if skin-on). Cook 4–5 minutes until the bottom is browned and the salmon is about halfway cooked.

  3. 3

Flip carefully and cook another 4–5 minutes until the salmon flakes easily and is cooked through. Total cook time should be about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

Turn off the heat. Squeeze lemon juice over the salmon, sprinkle with herbs, and serve immediately.
