Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Water
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Black Tea Leaves
  • 3 pieces Green Cardamom Pods
  • 1 inch Fresh Ginger
  • 1 small piece Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 pieces Cloves(optional)
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1

Crush the cardamom pods, ginger, and cinnamon stick lightly using a mortar and pestle to release their oils.

  2. 2

In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add the crushed spices and cloves.

  3. 3

Simmer the spices for 2-3 minutes until the water becomes fragrant and slightly tinted.

  4. 4

Add the black tea leaves and sugar, then simmer for another 2 minutes.

  5. 5

Pour in the milk and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.

  6. 6

Watch carefully so the milk doesn't spill over. Once it rises, lower the heat and let it simmer for 1 minute.

  7. 7

Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve into cups and serve hot.
