Ingredients

  • 300 g thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (for stir-frying)
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 4 cups lettuce leaves (for serving)(optional)
  • 1 cup cooked rice (for serving)(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (10 minutes): Slice beef thinly if needed, mince the garlic, and slice the green onions. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and sesame oil in a bowl.

  2. 2

Cook (15 minutes): Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat with the neutral oil. Add beef in a single layer and stir-fry until browned, about 6–8 minutes.

  3. 3

Add sauce and finish: Pour in the soy-sugar-garlic mixture and toss until glossy and slightly thickened, about 4–6 minutes. Turn off heat and stir in sesame seeds.

  4. 4

Serve: Spoon over lettuce leaves and/or serve with cooked rice. Top with green onions and any extra sesame seeds.
