Ingredients

  • 300 g Pork cutlet (boneless), thinly sliced or cutlets
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.33 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 0.75 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Neutral oil (for frying)
  • 2 cups Shredded cabbage
  • 4 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce
  • 2 Taco-style sandwich buns or tortillas

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (20 minutes total): Pat pork dry and season with salt and black pepper. Set up a breading station: flour in one bowl, beaten egg in a second bowl, and panko in a third. Lightly coat each pork piece in flour, dip in egg, then press into panko.

  2. 2

Cook (18 minutes total): Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry pork in batches (don’t crowd) until deep golden and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side depending on thickness. Transfer to a plate and rest 2 minutes.

  3. 3

Assemble: Warm the buns/tortillas briefly. Toss shredded cabbage with a spoonful of tonkatsu sauce (optional) or keep it plain. Slice or stack the pork cutlets, then build sandwiches with cabbage and drizzle tonkatsu sauce over the top.
