Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Salmon fillets
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup Mirin
  • 2 tablespoons Sake
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Grated ginger
  • 1 clove Grated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Toasted sesame seeds(optional)
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a crispy skin.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic until the sugar dissolves.

  3. 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

Place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.

  5. 5

Flip the salmon carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes until nearly cooked through.

  6. 6

Pour the teriyaki sauce mixture into the pan and bring it to a simmer.

  7. 7

Spoon the sauce over the salmon continuously for 2 minutes as it thickens into a glossy glaze.

  8. 8

Remove from heat once the sauce coats the back of a spoon and the salmon is fully cooked.
