Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground pork
- 1 medium Yellow onion, finely minced
- 3 tbsp Potato starch
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Grated ginger
- 30 pieces Shumai wrappers
- 30 pieces Frozen green peas
- 4 large Napa cabbage leaves for lining(optional)
Instructions

Place the finely minced onion in a bowl and toss with potato starch until evenly coated.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and grated ginger.

Mix the pork mixture vigorously by hand until it becomes sticky and pale in color.

Fold the starch-coated onions into the meat mixture until just combined.

Place a wrapper in your palm, add a tablespoon of filling, and squeeze your hand slightly to form a cylinder with an open top.

Flatten the top with a butter knife and press a single green pea into the center of the meat.

Line a steamer basket with cabbage leaves or parchment paper and arrange the shumai so they are not touching.

Steam over boiling water for 12-15 minutes until the meat is fully cooked and the wrappers are translucent.
