Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Black cod fillets
  • 2 tablespoons White miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon Mirin (sweet rice wine)
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup Daikon radish
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds(optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Green onion, sliced(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a small bowl, whisk together miso, mirin, soy sauce, honey, and grated ginger to form the glaze.

  2. 2

Pat the black cod fillets dry, brush both sides generously with the miso glaze, and let sit for 5 minutes while you prepare the salad.

  3. 3

Thinly slice the daikon radish; toss it in a bowl with rice vinegar, sesame oil, a pinch of salt, and optional sesame seeds and green onion.

  4. 4

Preheat the broiler on high; place the glazed cod on a foil-lined baking sheet and broil for 8‑10 minutes, until the surface is caramelized and the fish flakes easily.

  5. 5

Serve the miso‑glazed black cod alongside the chilled daikon radish salad.
