Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Jasmine or short-grain rice
  • 1 cup Water (for rice)
  • 10 oz Green beans
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Rice vinegar(optional)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil(optional)
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Rinse the rice, then add it to a small pot with 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce to low, and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

  2. 2

While the rice cooks, trim the green beans and steam or microwave until crisp-tender, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, grated ginger, honey, and (if using) rice vinegar and sesame oil.

  4. 4

Add the steamed beans to a skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Pour in the soy-ginger glaze and toss until the beans are glossy and the glaze lightly thickens, about 5 minutes.

  5. 5

Spoon rice into bowls, top with the soy-ginger beans, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
