Ingredients

  • 300 g Thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 100 g Kimchi
  • 2 cups Cooked short-grain rice
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Mirin
  • 2 tbsp Sake(optional)
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 medium Onion
  • 1 tsp Toasted sesame seeds(optional)
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Slice the onion thinly and pat the beef dry. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes until softened.

  2. 2

Add the beef to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until no longer pink.

  3. 3

Add soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar. Simmer for 5-6 minutes until the sauce reduces and coats the beef.

  4. 4

While the beef simmers, warm the kimchi in a small pan over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until heated through and slightly caramelized.

  5. 5

Divide hot rice between two bowls, top with the simmered beef, add warmed kimchi on one side, and place an egg yolk in the center.

  6. 6

Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
