- 1 lb Fettuccine pasta
- 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
- 1.5 cups Heavy cream
- 2 cups Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced(optional)

- 0.25 tsp Black pepper
- 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped(optional)

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente.

While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic to the butter and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Whisk in the heavy cream and let it simmer gently for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Lower the heat and gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until completely melted and the sauce is smooth.

Drain the pasta, reserving a small amount of pasta water, and toss the noodles directly into the sauce.
