Recipe serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Asian pear, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds(optional)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1

Grate the Asian pear and mince the garlic and ginger (about 10 minutes).

  2. 2

Whisk together the pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. Add the sliced chicken, toss to coat, and marinate for 20 minutes at room temperature.

  3. 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Working in batches, sear the chicken in a single layer for 3-4 minutes per side until caramelized and cooked through (about 10 minutes total).

  4. 4

Toss the cooked chicken with pan juices and sliced green onions, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve immediately over rice.
