Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes (no added sugar)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (sugar‑free)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the broccoli florets with half the olive oil, a pinch of salt, and black pepper, then spread on a baking sheet and roast for 20‑25 minutes, turning halfway, until crisp‑tender.

  2. 2

While the broccoli roasts, heat the remaining olive oil in a large skillet over medium‑high heat. Add the ground pork, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook 5‑7 minutes until browned and no longer pink.

  3. 3

Stir in the chili powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt; cook 1 minute to release aromas.

  4. 4

Add the crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it cook, uncovered, for 15‑20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

  5. 5

Just before serving, stir in the hot sauce and adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper if needed.

  6. 6

Plate the chili alongside the roasted broccoli and enjoy.
