Ingredients
- 12 oz Penne or Rigatoni pasta
- 28 oz Crushed tomatoes
- 0.5 cup Heavy cream
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 0.5 cup Fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese(optional)
- 0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes(optional)

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente.

While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the heavy cream and half of the chopped basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Drain the pasta and toss directly into the sauce. Add a splash of pasta water if the sauce is too thick.

Serve immediately topped with remaining fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
