- 1 cup Water
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon
- 0.25 teaspoon Salt
- 2 cups Vegetable oil
- 1 large Egg
Instructions
- 1
In a shallow bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon; set aside.
- 2
In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 3
Reduce heat to low and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until a dough ball forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Beat in the egg until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

Transfer the dough to a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- 7
Pipe 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting the ends with scissors. Fry 3-4 at a time until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
- 8
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain briefly on paper towels, then immediately roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
