Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Pork tenderloin
  • 0.25 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine or dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon Grated fresh ginger
  • 2 drops Red food coloring(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, wine, brown sugar, garlic, five-spice, and ginger to create the marinade.

  2. 2

Place the pork tenderloin in a large resealable bag and pour in the marinade, reserving 3 tablespoons for later glazing.

  3. 3

Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, to let the flavors penetrate the lean meat.

  4. 4

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and place a wire rack over a foil-lined baking sheet.

  5. 5

Remove the pork from the marinade and place it on the wire rack, discarding the used marinade in the bag.

  6. 6

Roast the pork for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

  7. 7

During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the reserved marinade over the pork to create a sticky, glossy glaze.

  8. 8

Remove from the oven and let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
