Caprese Caprese Toast

Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil on toasted sourdough with a balsamic drizzle.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Sourdough bread
  • 4 ounces Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 2 medium Ripe tomatoes
  • 6 leaves Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic glaze
  • 1 pinch Sea salt(optional)
  • 1 pinch Black pepper(optional)

Instructions

    Toast the sourdough bread slices until golden brown and crisp.

    Slice the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick rounds.

    Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the toasted bread.

    Layer the tomato and mozzarella slices alternately on top of the toast.

    Tear the fresh basil leaves and scatter them over the cheese and tomatoes.

    Drizzle with the balsamic glaze and remaining olive oil.

    Season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
