Butter Chicken

Tender chicken pieces simmered in a creamy, mildly spiced tomato and butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 600 g Chicken breast
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp Garam masala
  • 50 g Butter
  • 400 g Tomato puree
  • 150 ml Heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Sugar(optional)

Instructions

    Marinate chicken pieces in yogurt, half the ginger-garlic paste, and 1 tsp garam masala for at least 20 minutes.

    Heat a large pan and cook the marinated chicken until browned. Remove and set aside.

    In the same pan, melt the butter and add the remaining ginger-garlic paste. Sauté for 1 minute.

    Add tomato puree, sugar, and remaining garam masala. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until the sauce thickens.

    Stir in the heavy cream and add the cooked chicken back into the pan.

    Simmer for another 5 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is velvety.

    Serve hot with naan or basmati rice.
