Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ziti pasta
  • 32 ounces Marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano(optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the ziti until slightly firm (2 minutes less than the package directions for al dente). Drain.

  3. 3

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the parmesan, and the oregano.

  4. 4

In the large pot used for the pasta, toss the cooked ziti with the marinara sauce and the ricotta mixture until well combined.

  5. 5

Pour half of the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.

  6. 6

Top with the remaining pasta mixture and the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.

  7. 7

Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
