Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Pork collar butt or shoulder, cut into 2-inch wide strips
  • 3 tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Five-spice powder
  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic
  • 1 cube Red fermented bean curd(optional)
  • 1 tsp Toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the hoisin, honey, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, five-spice, garlic, and sesame oil.

  2. 2

Place the pork strips into the marinade, ensuring every piece is well coated, and let sit for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Place the pork strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them for air circulation.

  5. 5

Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip the pork pieces over to ensure even cooking.

  6. 6

Brush the remaining marinade over the pork and air fry for another 8-10 minutes until the edges are charred and the internal temperature reaches 145°F.

  7. 7

Remove the pork and let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes to keep the juices inside.

  8. 8

Slice the pork against the grain into thin pieces and serve with steamed rice.
