Ingredients
- 1 kg Ground beef
- 2 slices White bread
- 1 1/2 cups Milk
- 2 medium Onions, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Curry powder
- 3 tablespoons Fruit chutney
- 1/2 cup Sultanas or raisins
- 3 large Eggs
- 4 leaves Bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 tablespoon Garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a medium-sized baking dish.

Soak the bread slices in 0.5 cups of milk, then mash with a fork until smooth.

Sauté the onions and garlic in a large pan until soft, then stir in the curry powder and turmeric.

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking up any lumps.

Stir in the soaked bread, chutney, raisins, and lemon juice; season with salt and pepper to taste.

Transfer the meat mixture into the baking dish and press down firmly to create an even layer.

Whisk the remaining 1 cup of milk with the eggs and pour the mixture over the meat.

Place the bay leaves on top and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the custard topping is set and golden brown.
