Traditional Beef Lasagna

Layers of pasta sheets, rich bolognese sauce, creamy béchamel, and melted parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 12 sheets Lasagna Noodles
  • 24 oz Marinara Sauce
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 3 cups Mozzarella Cheese
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley(optional)

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with minced garlic until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

    Stir the marinara sauce and oregano into the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes.

    In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the parsley.

    Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

    Layer 3-4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture and a sprinkle of mozzarella.

    Repeat layers (sauce, noodles, ricotta, mozzarella) until all ingredients are used, ending with a thick layer of mozzarella and parmesan on top.

    Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

    Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
