Ingredients

Servings:4
  • 12 ounces Medium pasta shells
  • 1 1/2 cups Whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta shells according to package directions until al dente.

  2. 2

While pasta cooks, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

  3. 3

Whisk the flour into the melted butter and cook for 1 minute to create a light roux.

  4. 4

Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps, then simmer until the sauce thickens.

  5. 5

Stir in the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

  6. 6

Reduce heat to low and add the cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses, stirring until completely melted and smooth.

  7. 7

Drain the cooked pasta shells and return them to the large pot.

  8. 8

Pour the cheese sauce over the shells and toss thoroughly until every shell is coated.
