Ingredients

  • 1 lb Flank steak
  • 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 0.33 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced ginger, minced garlic, and cornstarch in a small bowl to create the sauce.

  2. 2

Thinly slice the beef against the grain into bite-sized strips.

  3. 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add broccoli and 2 tablespoons of water; cover and steam for 2 minutes. Remove broccoli and set aside.

  4. 4

Wipe the skillet, add the remaining oil, and increase heat to high. Add beef strips in a single layer and sear until browned, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

Return the broccoli to the pan and pour the sauce over the mixture.

  6. 6

Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened and coated the beef and broccoli.

  7. 7

Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately over rice.
