Ingredients

Servings:2
  • 8 ounces Sashimi-grade salmon fillet
  • 2 tablespoons Yuzu juice or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Pure sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 piece Garlic clove, thinly sliced into chips
  • 1 tablespoon Chives, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 pinch Maldon sea salt(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Thinly slice the salmon into bite-sized pieces and arrange them in a single layer on a flat, heat-proof serving plate.

  2. 2

Place a small dot of grated ginger and a sliver of garlic on each slice of salmon.

  3. 3

Drizzle the yuzu juice and soy sauce evenly over the entire plate of salmon.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the chopped chives and toasted sesame seeds over the fish.

  5. 5

In a small saucepan, combine the sesame oil and olive oil and heat over medium-high heat until the oil begins to smoke slightly.

  6. 6

Carefully and quickly pour the smoking hot oil mixture directly over each piece of salmon to sear the surface and aromatics.

  7. 7

Finish with a light sprinkle of sea salt and serve immediately while the oil is still sizzling.
