
Old Fashioned Self-Rising Cobbler

Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
- 1 cup Self-rising flour
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 cup Whole milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 2 cups Sliced peaches or berries (fresh or canned)
- 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon(optional)
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice(optional)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Place the half cup of butter in a 9x9 inch baking dish and put it in the oven while it preheats to melt.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour and sugar until well combined.

Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and no large lumps remain.

Remove the baking dish from the oven once the butter is fully melted and sizzling.

Pour the batter directly over the melted butter, but do not stir them together.

Spoon the fruit (and its juices) evenly over the top of the batter, again resisting the urge to stir.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the batter has risen through the fruit and the top is golden brown.
