Ingredients

  • 4 6-ounce portions Salmon fillets
  • 3 tablespoons White miso paste
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin
  • 2 tablespoons Sake
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Toasted sesame oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced(optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Toasted sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, mirin, sake, sugar, soy sauce, ginger, and sesame oil until smooth.

  2. 2

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure the glaze adheres properly.

  3. 3

Place the salmon in a shallow dish and pour the miso mixture over them, coating all sides.

  4. 4

Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

  5. 5

Preheat your oven broiler to high and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, lightly greasing it.

  6. 6

Place the salmon on the baking sheet, skin-side down, and wipe off any excess thick clumps of marinade to prevent burning.

  7. 7

Broil the salmon 6 inches from the heat source for 6 to 10 minutes, until the top is caramelized and the fish flakes easily.

  8. 8

Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
