Creamy Garlic Mushroom Penne

Ingredients
- 12 oz Penne pasta
- 16 oz Cremini mushrooms
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp Fresh parsley(optional)

Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne according to package directions until al dente.

While the pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until golden brown and moisture has evaporated, about 8 minutes.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Lower the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

Drain the pasta, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water, and toss the penne directly into the sauce.

Add reserved pasta water if needed to reach desired consistency. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley before serving.
