  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley(optional)
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne according to package directions until al dente.

  2. 2

While the pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until golden brown and moisture has evaporated, about 8 minutes.

  4. 4

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. 5

Lower the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  7. 7

Drain the pasta, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water, and toss the penne directly into the sauce.

  8. 8

Add reserved pasta water if needed to reach desired consistency. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley before serving.
