Classic Caprese Salad

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Fresh Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large Ripe Roma or Heirloom tomatoes
  • 1 bunch Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic glaze(optional)
  • 1 pinch Sea salt
  • 1 pinch Black pepper

Instructions

    Slice the fresh mozzarella into 1/4-inch thick rounds.

    Slice the tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick rounds to match the size of the mozzarella.

    On a serving platter, alternate slices of tomato and mozzarella, overlapping them slightly.

    Tuck a whole basil leaf between each slice of cheese and tomato.

    Drizzle the entire salad with extra virgin olive oil.

    If using, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top in a decorative pattern.

    Season with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper just before serving.
