Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 lean to fat ratio)
- 4 slices American cheese slices
- 4 pieces Brioche burger buns
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- 4 leaves Iceberg lettuce leaves
- 1 large Tomato
- 4 thin slices Red onion(optional)
- 12 slices Dill pickle chips
- 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Yellow mustard(optional)
Instructions
- 1
Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently shape them into patties about 1 inch thick.
- 2
Use your thumb to create a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
- 3
Season both sides of the patties generously with salt and black pepper.
- 4
Heat a large cast-iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat and lightly butter the cut sides of the buns.
- 5
Toast the buns in the skillet until golden brown, then set aside.
- 6
Place the patties in the hot skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes without moving them to develop a crust.
- 7
Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of American cheese on each; cook for another 3 minutes for medium doneness.
- 8
Assemble by spreading mayo on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, the cheesy patty, onions, pickles, and the top bun.
