  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 pieces Eggs, large
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar (for cheesecake)
  • 1 piece Egg yolk

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan.

    In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter and 1 cup of sugar, then stir in 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

    Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt; stir until just combined to create the brownie batter.

    Spread all but 1/2 cup of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.

    In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg yolk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth.

    Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer in the pan, then dollop the reserved 1/2 cup of brownie batter on top.

    Use a knife to gently swirl the two batters together to create a marble effect.
