Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ziti pasta
  • 24 oz Marinara sauce
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano(optional)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook ziti until slightly firm (al dente), about 2 minutes less than package directions. Drain.

  3. 3

In a medium bowl, stir together the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the parmesan, and oregano.

  4. 4

In the large pot used for pasta, combine the cooked ziti, marinara sauce, and the ricotta mixture. Stir gently to combine.

  5. 5

Pour half of the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella.

  6. 6

Top with the remaining pasta mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

  7. 7

Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbling.

  8. 8

Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
