Ingredients
- 2 cups Long grain white rice
- 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
- 1 unit Large red onion, finely chopped
- 3 cups Water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 cup Salted beef (Tolo Beef), cut into small cubes(optional)
- 3 units Green chili peppers (Kpakpo Shito)(optional)
- 1 teaspoon Ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon Garlic, minced

Wash the rice thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear, then drain and set aside.

Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.

Add the chopped onions and salted beef (if using) to the oil and fry until the onions are golden brown and slightly caramelized.

Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for another 60 seconds until fragrant.

Add the washed rice to the pot and stir constantly for 3-5 minutes, ensuring every grain is coated in the infused oil.

Pour in the water and add salt; bring the mixture to a rolling boil.

Add the whole green chilies on top, reduce the heat to low, and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid or foil.

Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender, then fluff with a fork before serving.
