Ingredients

Servings:6
  • 6 pieces Saba bananas (ripe)
  • 12 sheets Lumpia wrappers
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Jackfruit strips (langka)
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 1 piece Egg white(optional)
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Peel the saba bananas and cut them in half lengthwise.

  2. 2

Roll each banana half in the brown sugar until evenly and generously coated.

  3. 3

Place a sugared banana half on a lumpia wrapper and add two to three strips of jackfruit on top.

  4. 4

Fold the bottom of the wrapper over the banana, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly toward the top.

  5. 5

Seal the edge of the wrapper with a small amount of water or beaten egg white.

  6. 6

Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and sprinkle a tablespoon of brown sugar into the oil to create a caramel glaze.

  7. 7

Fry the rolls in batches, turning frequently until the wrapper is golden brown and the sugar has caramelized on the outside.

  8. 8

Remove from the pan and drain on a wire rack immediately to keep them crispy.
