- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 pieces large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- 2
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- 4
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 5
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined; do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in the chocolate chips by hand using a spatula.
- 7
Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- 8
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until the edges are set but the centers still look slightly soft; cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
