Ingredients
- 4 pounds Pork spare ribs
- 1/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper(optional)
- 1 1/2 cups Barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a large baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil.
- 2
Remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the ribs by lifting a corner with a knife and pulling it off with a paper towel.
- 3
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne to create the dry rub.
- 4
Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub, pressing it into the meat.
- 5
Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, cover tightly with another layer of foil to seal in moisture, and bake for 3 to 3.5 hours until tender.
- 6
Carefully remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top foil, and drain any excess liquid from the pan.
- 7
Brush a thick layer of barbecue sauce over the top of the ribs.
- 8
Increase oven temperature to 450°F or turn on the broiler, and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and slightly charred.
