Ingredients

Servings:6
  • 1 1/2 lbs Ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 medium Carrots, finely minced
  • 2 stalks Celery stalks, finely minced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 28 oz Crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup Beef broth
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup Whole milk(optional)
  • 1 to taste Salt and black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into small crumbles.

  2. 2

Drain the excess fat from the skillet and transfer the browned beef into the slow cooker.

  3. 3

Add the diced onion, carrots, celery, and minced garlic to the slow cooker with the beef.

  4. 4

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and dried oregano until well combined.

  5. 5

Season generously with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. 6

Cover and cook on Low for 7-8 hours or on High for 3-4 hours to allow the flavors to meld.

  7. 7

Thirty minutes before serving, stir in the milk if using; this adds a traditional creamy richness to the sauce.

  8. 8

Serve hot over cooked tagliatelle or spaghetti, garnished with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese.
