Quick Weeknight Ground Beef Dirty Rice

Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground beef (80/20)
- 1/2 pound Pork sausage
- 1 1/2 cups Long-grain white rice, uncooked
- 3 cups Beef broth
- 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 large Green bell pepper, diced
- 2 stalks Celery, diced
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped(optional)

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Add the ground beef and pork sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon until browned and cooked through.

Stir in the onion, bell pepper, and celery (the holy trinity) and cook for 5 minutes until vegetables are soft.

Add the minced garlic and Cajun seasoning, stirring for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in the uncooked rice and stir for 2 minutes to lightly toast the grains and coat them in the meat drippings.

Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing the mixture to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.

Remove from heat, let stand covered for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and garnish with parsley.
