Ingredients

  • 1 pound Flank steak
  • 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain into bite-sized strips.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch to create the sauce.

  3. 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the broccoli and 2 tablespoons of water. Cover and steam for 2 minutes, then remove broccoli from the pan.

  4. 4

Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan. Add the beef in a single layer and sear until browned, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

Return the broccoli to the pan and pour the sauce over the mixture.

  6. 6

Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened and coated the beef and broccoli.

  7. 7

Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately over rice.
