Ingredients
- 4 large Very ripe plantains (black skin)
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 3 pieces Whole cloves(optional)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1/4 cup Red cream soda or Cola(optional)
- 1 piece Cinnamon stick
Instructions

Peel the ripe plantains and cut them into 2-inch thick diagonal slices or halves.

In a large skillet or wide saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbling.

Add the plantain pieces to the skillet and fry them for 2-3 minutes per side until they develop a light golden color.

Sprinkle the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt evenly over the plantains.

Pour in the water, vanilla extract, and cream soda (if using), then add the cinnamon stick and cloves.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the plantains are tender.

Remove the lid and increase the heat slightly, spooning the syrup over the plantains repeatedly until the liquid reduces to a thick, amber glaze.

Remove from heat and serve warm as a side dish to rice and meat.
