Ingredients

Servings:6
  • 2 lbs Ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Yellow onion, finely minced
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, soak the breadcrumbs in milk for about 5 minutes until softened.

  3. 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, beaten eggs, minced onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and the soaked breadcrumbs.

  4. 4

Mix the ingredients by hand until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat which can make it tough.

  5. 5

Press the mixture evenly into the prepared loaf pan.

  6. 6

In a small separate bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to create the glaze.

  7. 7

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

  8. 8

Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
