Ingredients

Servings:6
  • 2 medium Potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup Green peas, steamed
  • 12 sheets Samosa pastry sheets or spring roll wrappers
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 piece Green chili, finely minced(optional)
  • 3/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour mixed with water (glue)

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté cumin seeds until they crackle.

  2. 2

Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sautéing for one minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

Stir in the mashed potatoes, peas, turmeric, garam masala, and salt; mix thoroughly and cook for 3 minutes.

  4. 4

Turn off the heat, stir in fresh cilantro, and let the filling cool completely.

  5. 5

Cut pastry sheets into long strips (approx 2x6 inches) for the cocktail size.

  6. 6

Fold one corner to form a pocket, fill with one teaspoon of the mixture, and continue folding in a triangle shape.

  7. 7

Seal the final edge using the flour-water paste to ensure no filling escapes during frying.

  8. 8

Deep fry in medium-hot oil until the samosas are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
