Ingredients

Servings:20
  • 14 oz Sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 oz 70% Dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch processed)
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted European-style butter
  • 2 tbsp Heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp Fine sea salt
  • 1/2 cup Dark chocolate sprinkles or flakes
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa nibs(optional)
  • 1 tsp Unsalted butter for greasing hands

Instructions

  1. 1

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and heavy cream over medium-low heat.

  2. 2

Whisk constantly until the cocoa powder is fully dissolved and the butter has melted into the mixture.

  3. 3

Add the chopped dark chocolate and sea salt, stirring continuously with a silicone spatula to prevent burning on the bottom.

  4. 4

Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring non-stop, until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides and bottom of the pan when tilted.

  5. 5

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.

  6. 6

Pour the mixture onto a greased plate or shallow bowl and let it cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  7. 7

Once chilled, grease your hands with butter and roll the mixture into small 1-inch balls.

  8. 8

Roll each ball in dark chocolate sprinkles or cocoa nibs until evenly coated and place in mini paper liners.
