Creamy Mushroom Toast

Sautéed mushrooms in a light cream sauce served over thick slices of sourdough.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Sourdough bread
  • 250 grams Cremini mushrooms
  • 100 ml Heavy cream
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme(optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese(optional)
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

Instructions

    Clean the mushrooms and slice them evenly.

    Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    Add mushrooms to the pan and sauté until golden brown and the moisture has evaporated.

    Add minced garlic and thyme, cooking for another 1 minute until fragrant.

    Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the mushrooms.

    Stir in the parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.

    Toast the sourdough slices until golden and crisp.

    Spoon the creamy mushroom mixture generously over the toast and serve immediately.
