- 4 cups All-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, chilled
- 1 piece Large egg
- 1/2 cup Whole milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 3 cups Vegetable oil for frying

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt.

Cut the chilled butter into small cubes and rub it into the flour mixture using your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate small bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla extract together.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and knead gently until a smooth, non-sticky dough forms.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
